Stroke

Stroke

A cerebral infarction, also known as a stroke or cerebrovascular accident (CVA), occurs when the blood flow to a part of the brain stops. This causes brain cells to die quickly due to the lack of oxygen and nutrients. There are two main types of stroke: ischemic (caused by a blockage of an artery) and hemorrhagic (caused by the rupture of a blood vessel).
